Shambles Carnival Club is based in Shepton Mallet, Somerset. We build a 100ft cart and participate in the Somerset Guy Fawkes Illuminated Carnivals. All ages welcome to have fun and work as a team. Certain skills such as carpentry, electrical, welding, painting, costume making, make-up and designing are useful, but so is tea making, fundraising and socializing. All money to build our finished entry has to be raised by the club and hopefully teaches all our members new skills and values of friendship. Then every November we show off new themed entry, some members will be dressed up on the cart and others will be ground crew. These November illuminated carnivals start in Bridgwater, and are probably the largest in the world.
